Government must consult experts on home tuition fees
While this recent call for a registry for homeschooled children is in line with Mr. Caller’s beliefs, he hopes the government will move forward by consulting with the appropriate industry experts.
In 2019, Mr. Caller detailed his concerns that the right people were not being consulted in order to take informed action to regulate home schooling. He offers a solution by suggesting that home schooling experts be consulted and the home schooling community then appropriately compartmentalized:
“Historically, I have always unhesitatingly supported calls for regulation, but while of course I always want to protect every child’s right to a quality education, I no longer believe the government is consulting all the right ones. people on this issue. Families opt for home schooling for a multitude of reasons, so it is too restrictive to assume that a mandatory registry would protect children and ensure they all receive a proper education. The government must divide the home schooling community into segments and seek appropriate representation for each group and their needs.

“There should be a registry, but it shouldn’t interfere”
This week, Adam calling him clarified its position in light of the latest call for a registry for homeschooled children (ES):
âWhenever the issue of a registry of homeschooled children is raised by the government, the home schooling community opposes it. I have been vilified for suggesting that they should work with the government to protect children on this issue. , but it should not interfere with what HE families do if children are not hurt by the education they receive. The problem is how to assess the relevance of home schooling without interference. “
The chairman of the education select committee, MP Robert Halfon, agrees with Mr. Caller’s point of view. It also states that the right to home education must be protected, but reconciled with standards and the safeguard of children. In his article for Schools Week, Halfon explains:

Mr. Caller argues that home schooling could be a solution to the gaps in mainstream education for some people:
