Cambodia and World Bank discuss education cooperation amid COVID-19


Cambodia and the World Bank discussed the situation of education and cooperation in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The discussion took place here yesterday between Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Hang Chuon Naron and World Bank Regional Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific (EAP) Manuela V Iron.

Minister Chuon Naron highlighted the education development plan in each sub-sector, the education strategy for online teaching and learning and self-learning, the teacher training plan and changes in program to respond to the context of Covid-19.

The study of foreign languages ​​and the major achievements of the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports were also discussed on this occasion.

Ferro is making his first official visit to Cambodia this week. Besides the Minister of Education, Ferro met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, to discuss the challenges of recovery, the potential reform agenda to support economic recovery and sustainable growth for all Cambodian citizens, according to the World Bank in Cambodia.
