BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Sunday that law and order and public welfare were most important to his government. Interacting with the state’s divisional commissioners and inspectors general of police (IGs) via video conference, Chouhan said administrative and police officers should ensure the peace and welfare of people in each district with full coordination.
CM began the discussion with law and order during a meeting held at his home on Sunday morning.
He said action must be taken against criminals and the mafia should not be allowed to thrive. Thousands of acres of land have been liberated from the mafia in the state and a land use plan is being finalized, Chouhan said.
The Chief Minister said: “I am very disturbed by the incident of Guna. It is my resolution not to spare any criminal. In the case of Guna, such strict measures will be taken against the criminals who will be registered in history and will be a deterrent to others in the future.
He said a continuous review of work should be done in the police department; the criminals must be identified.
CM also indicated that effective measures have been taken by the police in certain neighborhoods. For this, the officers and staff involved are to be commended.
Chouhan said district collectors should act as coordinators. There should be no drinking water crisis in any region. If there is a technical problem in the operation of the tap water systems, the system should be rectified immediately. If the hand pumps are damaged, they must also be repaired.
He said that on May 16, the grant amount would be distributed to the beneficiaries of “Sambal Yojana”.
CM went on to add that Mission Nagarodaya kicks off on May 17. Work on the project begins with around ₹20,753 crore. This work will change the image of cities. Chouhan led collectors and officers from the urban development department to ensure that the Nagarodaya Mission is organized systematically. Beneficiaries will receive benefits from other schemes including “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana”. Griha Pravesh of the beneficiaries of “Pradhan Mantri Shahari Awas Yojana” will be conducted. Beneficiaries will receive aid of around ₹12,000 crore. The ministers in charge of the districts will be present in the programs. He said that on May 17, moong dal will be distributed to students in state-level schools – 10 kg each to primary grade students and 15 kg to middle and other grade students.
