EUCC Women’s Guild Spring Salad Luncheon

TELL CITY – The Women’s Guild of the Evangelical United Church of Christ will hold its Spring Salad Luncheon on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. The church is located at the corner of 10th and Jefferson streets in Tell City.

Lunch is for men and women and is open to the public. The cost is $8 per person at the door and will include meal, dessert and a drink. Take-out meals will be available. There will be over 40 different salads, a hot chicken casserole, Hawaiian rolls, drinks and our house cookie table.

Cookbooks will also be available for purchase. Proceeds will be used to benefit various missionary projects in our community. Contact the church office at 812-547-7059 with any questions.

Fulda Euchre May 14

FULDA – Fulda Sportsman Club will host Euchre on Saturday 14 May.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and play begins at 7 p.m. All times are CST. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served. The public is invited to attend.

Perry County Visitor Center – Run for Your Mother

TELL CITY — Family Fun Event, in coordination with Run For Your Mother, will host a running event on Sunday, May 8 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year there will also be vendors set up selling a wide assortment of items that can be purchased for Mother’s Day gifts. Various food trucks will also be serving.

Anyone wishing to be a vendor at the event, please call 812-547-3567; the donation to the event is only charged for the installation.

Knitting and Knots Meeting May 12

TELL CITY – Knits and Knots will meet Thursday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Tell City United Methodist Church, 702 10th St. Visitors are asked to use the 11th Street parking lot and enter through the green door.

The thread is provided free of charge to participants.

Paddle Perry Events in May

TELL CITY – Paddle Perry has many events for the month of May (check the Facebook page for more info).

• Pick Perry Day, May 6 (online event)

• Ohio River Sweep, May 14, 1-4 pm CST from the Cannelton Boat Launch.

• MNR Boater Safety Course, May 14. Register online :

Paddle Perry is selling raffle tickets for its annual fundraiser until July 2. Two stand-up paddle boards will be offered. Tickets can be purchased at Joe & Linda’s Radio Sales (Radio Shack) in Cannelton anytime during opening hours or at any of their events and booths. Tickets are $5/chance or $3/$10. The winner will be announced at the Post PADL Party in the Park on July 2, 2022.

Tell Municipal Public Library

TELL CITY – Perry County Public Library to host Hungrytown (, a folk couple who will perform an outdoor concert (bring your lawn chairs) on the West Lawn of the Tell Municipal Library. If the weather is not cooperative, we will have the concert inside the library. Wednesday May 11, from 6 p.m.

Meeting of beekeepers

PERRY COUNTY – Perry County beekeepers will have a meeting May 12 at the Agricultural Department at Perry Central High School. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. CST. Food will be provided, but all guests are also asked to bring food to share.

Discussion at this meeting will focus on setting up swarm boxes, capturing clustered swarms, and combining swarms with existing hives. Members will also discuss adding supers to established hives. Everyone present will have the opportunity to ask questions about beekeeping.


TELL CITY — The William Tell Center, 1301 11th St. in Tell City, will host live bands on Saturdays in May from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission for members is $5 and for non-members ages 12 and up is $6.

The WTC also hosts Line Dancing Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. Admission is $5.

The groups for the month of May will be:

May 7: Clear Creek; a pitch meal will begin at 6:20 p.m.

May 14: 3 for all

May 21: Stone Canyon

May 28: Memorial weekend closed

Admission is $5 for members, $6 for the general public.

Admission for Thursday’s line dancing is $5.

The WTC will host a luncheon on Thursday, May 19 with Bingo. Admission is two $1 items.

A free movie day will take place on Tuesday, May 10 at 1 p.m. with snacks and drinks offered.

All ages are welcome. Smoking or alcohol is prohibited.

Deer Creek Pantry

TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church Food Pantry, 6733 Alamo Road, Tell City, is open the last Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The next pantry will be available on Saturday, May 28.

Perry County Board of Animal Welfare, Control and Education Meeting

PERRY COUNTY — The Perry County Animal Welfare, Control and Education Council will hold its meetings every third Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Depot, 333 Seventh Street in Tell City. May 17 will be the next meeting.
