Cosmetics Brand Donates $ 100,000 to Breonna Taylor Nursing Scholarship

A large donation is made to a scholarship honoring the late Breonna Taylor. Officials at the University of Louisville have confirmed that Thrive Causemetics, a makeup line known for giving back, is donating $ 100,000 to the Breonna Taylor Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund. The university is expected to announce more about the donation on Wednesday afternoon. Breonna Taylor was killed by Louisville subway cops in a botched police raid in March 2020. This sparked protests, new laws and police reform. Taylor was a certified emergency room technician at UofL Health-Medical Center East, so the scholarship is for the school’s nursing program. When announced in June 2020, officials said it would be a renewable four-year scholarship, covering full tuition and fees.
