Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day was celebrated by children and members of Mashal Association at Mashal School in Margalla town, a press release said.
The guests were welcomed by the Director of Education at Mashal, Tallat Azim, followed by the program beautifully presented by the children.
The first element was a text based on the song “Yun di hame azadi, ka dunya hui heran” – to remind us of the unique fight that Quaid-e-Azam fought with his legal insight and the support of all Muslim citizens of the sub -continent.
The next item was one in which four students highlighted highlights of the struggle for Pakistan and was titled “Pakistan ki kahani hamari zubani”. The highlight of the event was called ‘Aik khawab, aik ahed’ – Two children took turns reciting Allama Iqbal’s inspirational poetry and Quaid e Azam quotes on different occasions giving direction to the State of Pakistan.
This was followed by the song “Mai to dekhoon ga, tum bhi dekho gai, jab aisa ho ga Pakistan”. The program ended with the collective singing of the national anthem and a vote of thanks from co-director of education Farzana Saeed.
The Mashal Association is a social welfare organization that has been working from its own social welfare complex in Margalla Town, here for 25 years. A school for girls from disadvantaged families is also run by the Mashal association on their premises.
