Starnes joins GSI with more than 20 years of experience in education, including curriculum development, evaluation, and implementation, as well as teaching and consulting in the areas of early childhood education, special needs and primary education. As Senior Vice President and Director of Academics, she will lead The Goddard School’s nationally recognized FLEX.® philosophy, which is used to educate more than 70,000 students nationwide. This program uses the latest, academically-approved methods in early childhood education so children can explore, learn, and discover through many different subjects and enrichment lessons.

Starnes to guide Goddard School’s Social-Emotional Development curriculum, which educates children on how to be kind to themselves and others, further helping students prepare for school, career and to life. One of the ways students experience this is through the Goddard School Life Lessons Librarya focused program built around great works of children’s literature focusing on social and emotional learning.
