Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s special advisor for education, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, said the education sector reform by the Lagos State government is starting to show positive results.
Speaking while expressing his joy when Lagos State Polytechnic Ikorodu became the third best polytechnic in Nigeria in the latest Webometric ranking of the year 2021 for polytechnics and colleges of technology in Nigeria, Wahab said, the institution was taking its rightful position.
He said: “LASPOTECH is resuming its rightful place and the general state government reform of the education sector is starting to show positive results.
According to the ranking result recently published by Webometric, LASPOTECH is the third best among the 50 ranked institutions in the country.
In the same vein, the Oba of Igbogbo Kingdom, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, praised Sanwo-Olu for prioritizing the development and empowerment of young people in the THEMES development program of his administration, adding that the proposed upgrade of LASPOTECH to the University of Science and Technology showed Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to quality education, research development and technological innovations in the state.
